Content & Copy Needs
You’re here because you’re looking for a writer, right? And most likely you were referred to us – we can confidently make that guess because the folks that hire us always share us with their friends. But maybe you don’t know the technical term for what you need. Let’s talk about Content versus Copy.
Spoiler: We Do Both.
When we talk about Content Writing, we’re referring to text that informs the reader but doesn’t necessarily compel them to buy. The language used in your content writing should always be on-brand, but the premium’s placed on language that communicates in an exceptionally clear and concise way. Good content writing is important because, if it’s done right, it only has to be done once. (For example, it saves your business time and your customer energy if a how-to manual is written in a way that doesn’t leave any questions unanswered).
Copy writing is text that is strategically designed to a) reflect your brand, b) persuade, and c) speak to your IDEAL customer. Copywriting uses language meant to conjure certain emotions from the reader – whether it’s excitement, support, interest, or urgency. We think of copywriting a little like making a magic potion: all elements (word choice, tone, sentence length, ideal client specifics) have to be *just so* to cast the spell and manifest our clients’ desires into reality.

Starting the branding or website design process is a ton of fun! First, you send us anything already in existence. We want to see your online persona: share with us your old website, your social media platforms, any online reviews. Then, we’re going to set up a shared Pinterest board. Your job is to spend an evening pinning images you love – they don’t need to make sense, just let your subconscious take the lead!
Then, let’s talk.
We’ll chat over Zoom or in-person about what you envision. After that, we’ll have all we need to start creating your branding. We’ll create three options of logo suites, colour palettes, and font pairings, along with our thoughts on why we chose each element and what they represent or symbolize. You and your team will then discuss the options and let us know what edits you’d like made, or how you’d like us to proceed.
With your branding locked down, we’ll start creating the site! Once the first draft is complete, we’ll meet again to discuss edits. Once you are 100% happy with the site and branding, Always Brave Creative Founder Katie Bickell will deliver training on how to use your Canva brand kit, your new WordPress Website, and your RSS eNewsletter campaign.
We’ll also deliver a customized PDF outlining your Brand Guidelines, including how-tos on the topics covered in training.
