What kind of story do you want your brand to tell about your business, and about you? And, how can your design concepts showcase that story, down to the finer details?
It’s these types of questions that Always Brave Creative prioritize when designing things like logos for our clients. As a team, we want to provide design concepts that empower you to share your story fearlessly and share the little pieces of who you are effectively and engagingly (with your colour palette, typography and brand voice all in mind as well!).
Even in our own branding, the little elements speak to the larger story:
“Where rosemary flourishes, the woman rules.”
Always Brave Creative founder Katie Bickell is a sucker for folklore. Legend says rosemary is the herb for memory, as well as a symbol of happiness, love, and success. It also appealed to her for several personal reasons:
In 2011, Katie was 25 and pregnant with her youngest daughter. She had just been published and friends began asking for help with their resumes. Then friends of friends asked. Eventually, businesses sought her assistance with copy and content, and she had created a job for herself — one that allowed her to parent the way she wanted to parent and work the way she wanted to work. Sometimes it seemed like a miracle, and sometimes it seemed pretty badass that she had made some magic herself.
The woman ruled indeed.
Katie sold that first business in 2016 when, after a few writing awards, she was awarded a grant to write a novel. She spent 2017 writing Always Brave, Sometimes Kind and thought her entrepreneur days were over. She became a preschool teacher, and ABSK received a publishing contract. Then 2020 happened.
Katie, and many of my former clients, found themselves out of work. Clients asked her to reopen the shop and update their CVs. So, instead of looking for her own job, she helped others secure theirs. Soon, businesses also asked for help – so Katie (and newly-hired assistant Lucy) began offering brand development and site design. As services quickly expanded, the agency needed a new name.
Lucy pitched the concept: Always Brave Creative.
And, with a sprig of rosemary incorporated into the logo as a nod to our gutsy origins, it was the perfect fit — a tribute to the bold moves behind us, and the fearless stories we’ve yet to tell.
Each of our clients has a unique experience and history as well. Here at Always Brave Creative, we want to work with you to bring those anecdotes to life in your brand design concepts — no matter how small the detail. And, we will look to combine your story into an impactful, sincere statement of who you are.
